Summary: Coffee hugger
... This is a great deal on a great coffee maker! It does an excellent job brewing coffee. And hot! All coffee makers should perform as well. I especially like that the timer doesn't beep until a minute or two after the coffee stops dripping. That way it's perfectly hot. Stays hot too. And the lid of the coffee pot is designed to slow evaporation, so the coffee stays fresh.

Summary: Not the older model, but still the best out there
... We got the older version of this coffee maker as a wedding present. It died in September 2008 after 13 years! We wanted something as close to it as possible...old habits die hard! I went on a search. I read bad reviews of this current Krups model (like those 1 star reviews on Amazon) so I opted to stay clear of this Krups. I got a Cuisinart and it started acting up within 2 weeks. I brought it back to Bed, Bath & Beyond after resetting the internal computer (unplugging it for an hour) every week and tired of the condensation

After five years my Hamilton Beach brew station finally died and my best friend bought me this one. Sure it doesn't make iced tea, unelss you brew the tea, put it in a seperate container and add ice. Yes you have to grind the beans then put them in the filter yourself, but these to me are small inconveniences, compared to what delicious coffee and tea this machine makes. I have not experienced any of the overflow or other problems noted here. I previously had a Krups thermal carafe coffeemaker for about 6 years, and this is a major design improvement on the category. I prefer coffee made fresh and poured through a cone filter, and never allowed to sit on a burner. We will never go back to a cheap maker ever again. This maker even has a clean coffee cycle. You just push the button and it does it's thing and beeps when it is done. The beeps to indicate that the coffee is done are very, very loud. I like to set the coffee timer the night before but that means the beeps go off in the morning and wake up the whole house (not just me). We have a large, well insulated house and the bedrooms aren't close to the kitchen-- the beeps are just really loud. You can't turn off the beep like on other coffee makers.
